NEW JERSEY MULTIPLE LIGHTS

Father Chubenko of the Ukrainian church in Carteret he was an eyewitness to the sighting that occurred on July 15, at 12: 45 AM. The father claimed to have seen a large number of lights, 15 or more, flying over the Rectory. The trip was made on a July 17, 2001, and we were both interviewed on ABC Channel 12 by Cynthia Scott. Father Chubenko who is also a pilot and an electrical engineer. He indicated, that an apparent craft flew overhead for an extended period of time. He watched the lights very closely for 5 to 10 minutes. I asked specifically if he thought these were flares? He said, these were not flares he was sure of that. The lights did go out periodically. He felt that many lights moved in unison that they appeared to be attached to some kind of an object probably a craft, although he did not personally see a craft. The lights moved in unison and they also brightened and dimmed in unison as if they were attached to the same craft. The newspaper claimed that the lights might be bags of garbage on fire. He laughed since this area is covered by fuel storage tanks and burning objects could easily with cause a fire. The lights periodically stopped working and shut down as if one was turning off a light although some fell 4 to 500 feet to like they were shutting down. It did not appear as a burning light, a flame, a fire, or a flare. They were more like a star or planet.

A quiet also interview today's second witness a Middlesex County Sheriff's officer ingrown he Hal Kovacs, from New Brunswick. He had not actually seen the craft, but was on his back porch with his dog at the time the UFO went over. His dog suddenly jumped up and started barking and running around on his two back feet. He had never seen his dog do anything similar to this and was quite surprised. He had trouble calming the dog down and did not think to look into the sky. They live near Newark Airport and the dog is quite time familiar with aircraft. He felt it was very significant that his dog felt the presence of the UFO.

New York radar operators indicate eight dozen anomalous targets. There are wide variations in speed. Most are moving relatively slowly around 50 mph. One is moving at 250 mph and a high speed craft was moving through the area at around 600 knots. Speeds varied from 580 to 620 knots faster than any normal jet traffic. Further analysis of the video tape seems to show three groups of lights. The first group of lights is composed of 5 lights, the second group is composed of four lights, and one light singly follows. A possible structured craft appears with double lights. The lights are definitely moving as the lights pass over a house. They are moving relative to each other. Thanks to Bob Durant and FAA.

CARTERET: The mystery of the flickering lights seen by scores of people over the borough early Sunday has yet to be cracked. But what some observers described as an unidentified flying object wasn't that mysterious to J.C. Guskind. Guskind is a driver for B&L Towing in Carteret and a volunteer fireman in Clark. Around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, he saw some strange lights, too, floating upward from the back yard of a home opposite the Rising Star Diner on Roosevelt Avenue. Those were the lights that drew television crews to the borough on Monday, he said. "They were bar-shaped, but brighter than a glow stick," he said. "They all went up as though they were perfectly timed." He assumed they were battery-powered lights tied to a string of balloons, but saw no balloons and no one actually launching them. He said they floated southwest, which matches the description given by witnesses of the flickering lights. Yesterday, three people in the neighborhood Guskind mentioned said they saw nothing early Sunday. Guskind said he called police yesterday and they told him they will investigate his claim. Police Capt. James Hojecki last night could not confirm whether anyone in the Carteret department spoke to Guskind. But he said a man from Fort Worth, Texas, who saw the video of the strange lights on the ABC News Web site, offered to help police solve the mystery. The man, Timothy Kuchta, said last night in a telephone interview that he knew exactly what the supposed UFO was when he watched the video taken by a Carteret resident. As a boy in the early '70s, he and his brother would pull a UFO hoax using thin, plastic garment bags bought from a dry cleaner. They would put a cross made of cardboard in the bag and tie a small cup of denatured alcohol or pure grain alcohol to the bottom of the cross, and then light the alcohol. The burning alcohol would turn the garment bag into a mini hot-air balloon that glowed at night and went thousands of feet into the air.
"When I saw that video, it was like deja vu," he said. "That's what it's got to be." The bags would occasionally drip burning alcohol in a stream. That might explain the flickering one observer said looked like flaming wax dripping from a tipped candle. The garment bags would travel in near formation, Kuchta said. This was at night about 11pm i got a call to pick up a man going to long island Ny Now this was back in 1998 like I said the ride was 2hours going i think it was ammittyville Ny not sure well he never said a word for the one hour in the cab he sat in the back seat in the middle of the cab Strange Ha after the hour was over he spoke he had a dum smile on his face for 1 hour I kepted watching him from the mirror Back then i never knew of aliens Ufos & men in black i just never though of it He then asked me hey do u believe in aliens I laughted at him and said no way are u nuts he had this strange look about him he wore those sunglasses i said I know the aliens are taking over the country He said not those aliens the ones up there I said up where I smiled and said no man theres no such thing as aliens or ufos I watch all the aliens movies i told him I like alien movies He smiled again then his face droped like a robot. I though for a while he was nuts or that he might hold me up He was very short about 51 i think I noticed when he got out of the cab he was wearing a hat like the one in the movie men in black Any way he talked about greys he said they were in area 51 I asked what was area 51 Ive never heard of it before he smiled again his face droped afterwards he told me about the weather changes that we would have a lot of weather problems in 2001. then he talked about our government something about a trial we were on probation We meaning the people from earth and that were not doing to well something about replacing us with another life form if we fail there test who the hell are they I asked he said my people i just thought for a minute Like what the hell does he mean. something very important happen to me in my future he said to me Gabriel i said what he said you were born in 1947 true I said yes how did u know that. he said I know things manny things He told me to study up on God because hes real and to go to a video store and get that video about roswell then he said i would understand. when we got to our destnation near the city. he said pull over Gabriel ill get out here i said in the middle of the highway its dark out there i cant leave u here he said doit now I pulled over and let him out near some dark woods. he handed me 100.00 bucks i couldent believe it what a tip I went home and told my wife carol she laughted I went to the video store and got the docamentry on roswell ever since ive been studying these things. The same year a month later we moved into a 1 family house in jersey city that was haunted well we were seeing things white shawdows noises I was woken up at three oclock in the morning with these loud noises Ill explain more about this when i talk to u. It goes on things move around my house are they angels or aliens ? Any way I saw a ship i know what a ship looks like i had a pair of bronuclurs I was looking right at the ship it had a dark shadow v shape behind the lights Also those people that saw the lights didnt see that there was a couple a small ships first thats why the video shows the lights were in too different forms 1 was a v shape the other was single lights there wa s alot going on that night like to say here we are people look at us all the plains had stop flying over the area. ORADELL RESERVOIR -- In response to a previous message about the Oradell Reservoir: Back in the late '60s, a teenaged neighbor of ours came running over to the house at dinner time to ask my father (who was on the police force at the time) if he had heard that a flying saucer was hovering over the reservoir. He hadn't, because he was off duty and we were all eating. Our friend said he was going to the reservoir to check it out. I asked my parents if I could go with him, but they said no... I don't remember whether or not he saw anything. Jacques Vallee (in "Anatomy of a Phenomenon") mentions a sighting near the reservoir, but this would have been several years later than the one in his book. Christopher G. Oradell, NJ USA
